In 1982, mum and dad moved to the Wirral. We left behind old friends and neighbours. Mum missed popping in to see them, having a chat and going shopping for them. However, she was now busier than ever - keeping the house, travelling backwards and forwards to Liverpool on the train to work “part-time” with dad and doing the garden, she had always wanted but never had before. She loved gardening and she was good at it. She cried when she had to give it up in her late eighties.
