We always went everywhere together as a family. Mum and dad never went out separately, always as a couple.  They only got two weeks holiday a year and we always went away in the car. Dad drove us everywhere, all over the country. Mum never had a passport. Her favourite holiday destinations were Devon and Cornwall. Mum preferred being out to being at home. She always loved going out in the car. We always went out on Sundays and on dad’s half day off, visiting family or on trips out.
